A woman was caught in Ogun State after she stole another woman’s baby to cover up her fake pregnancy.
According to The Nation, Falilat Olatunji, 23 years, a Lagos resident has been arrested by the Nigerian Police for alleged baby theft in Ogun State.
Falilat, residing at 23 Jawando Street, stole the baby from Taiwo Bello at her resident at Iyana Lajola, Mile Two, Abeokuta.
She was alleged to have sneaked into Taiwo’s room while she was at laundry within the premises and cart away with her son, Ibrahim.

The owner of the baby, Taiwo Bello, on returning from the laundry could not find her child so she raised alarm which caught her neighbor’s attention, so the search of the baby began.
The community leader, Alhaji Abdul Dawodu joined in the search and reported the baby’s disappearance to the Police at Sabo Ilupeju Division.
The Nigerian Police Force at that zone were on alert and they commence intelligence search immediately.
According to Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP) said that the search for the baby was initiated immediately the community leader made the report.
The woman was arrested by the police at Ilewo Orile.
In a statement released by Police Spokesman, Oyeyemi said:
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the baby in order to deceive her husband that the baby was the product of the pregnancy she told him.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect was once squatting in the same house with the parents of the baby and that she was present during the naming ceremony of the same baby.
“The baby has been reunited with his parents.
“The Commissioner of Police Bashir Makama has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution.
“He appealed to members of the public to always beware of people around them because there are a lot of wolves in human skin.”
