Senator Hope Uzodinma is the Governor of Imo State, as was declared by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Uzodinma was first elected as a senator in April 2011 under the Platform of Peoples democratic Party, PDP.

On 9 January 2011, During PDP primaries he defected the incumbent Senator Osita Izunaso who had 891 votes, while he had 2,147 votes.

He is from Orlu (Imo West) constituency of Imo State, South East Nigeria.

He was born on 12 December, 1958 now he is 61 years old.

Hope Uzodinma is married to Chioma Ikeaka and blessed with two daughters Sophie Nkem Uzodinma, Sandra Nkechi Uzodinma.

Uzodinma obtained his O’Level results at Mgbidi Secondary School, Oru West in 1982.

He has a university education and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and an Advanced Diploma in Transport Studies.

In the 9 April 2011 elections, Uzodinma defected former governor of his state with 85,042 votes, ahead of former Imo Governor Achike Udenwa of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) with 64,228 votes and Rajis Okpalan Benedicta of the All Progressives Grand Alliance with 57,110 votes.

Uzodinma has been consistence in taking on the Strong leaders in Politics of Imo State.

Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Tuesday, January 14, emerged as the governor of Imo State. The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Mohammed, led a seven-man panel of the Supreme Court that sacked Emeka Ihedioha and declared Uzodinma as governor.

Uzodinma first got his declaration from Rev. Father Mbaka of Adoration Ministry. Mbaka, with an air of certainty, declared that APC Hope Uzodinma will become the governor of Imo State in 2020.
