The central command of Sector 2 of Operation Lafiya Dole working in Yobe State has revealed that three soldiers have been injured during an occurrence that prompted the total flatten down of a defensively covered battling vehicle yesterday in Damaturu.
The Army made the revelation while responding to the episode in an announcement gave on Tuesday by the Sector 2 representative, Captain Njoka Irabor.
“There was an uneasy quiet in Damaturu city because of the sound of blasts heard at about 11:30 am, on Monday 30th December 2019.
“The fire episode happened, when an Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV) coming back to base from a normal reserve obligation, abruptly built up an electrical breaking down. This prompted fire episode on the AFV and resulting blasts of the ammo ready.
“The fire episode occurred along Damaturu – Maiduguri street. The AFV was totally burned to the ground, while troops in the vehicle had the option to remove themselves during the fire episode.
“Notwithstanding, 3 fighters supported wounds and have since been moved to our therapeutic office for brief restorative consideration”, Captain Irabor expressed.
The Headquarters, Sector 2 of the Operation LAFIYA DOLE through the representative encouraged inhabitants of Damaturu and environs to approach their real organizations, guaranteeing that it troops would keep on releasing their duties of the insurance of lives and property.
