The Super Eagles of Nigeria beats the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-2 to qualify for quarter finals of the African cup of Nations 2019.
The Eagles scored their first goal in the 19th minutes of the game by Odion Ighalo’s superlative goal.
Ighalo’s shot gave Nigeria the lead before Bahoken pulled Cameroon level on 41 minutes, making it 1:1
And, within 3 minutes the Cameroonians netted another goal before the end of the first half.
Super Eagles striker, Ighalo scored a brace as Nigeria knocked out defending Champions, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon out of the contest.
Recalled that Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ dominance over the Lions of Cameroon since 1989 has not seized in AFCON 2019.
Gernot Rohr’s boys continued their usual winning against their arch rivalry with 3:2 on Round of 16 match at the Alexandria Stadium.
Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi sealed the winning at 66th minutes with well positioning goal assisted by Igalo.
Iwobi’s goals send the Indomitable home as the super Eagles defended their last goal with all the strength.
Man of the match was given to the highest goals scorer, Igalo.
However, Super Eagles to beats Cameroon with just a goal margin.
Cameroon enjoyed a 59-41 ball possession, but, however this did not transformed into winning.
The 3-2 scoreline sends the defending Champions packing from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
