Smart Adeyemi threatened to work against APC if Given Bello is Denied ticket



Senator Smart Adeyemi, has threatened to work against his party, APC if Governor Yahaya Bello is denied the party’s ticket in the forthcoming governorship elections.

Adeyemi, made this assertion known to the public on Thursday at the APC stakeholders’ forum held in the state capital, Lokoja.

It would be recalled that the electoral body (INEC) had fixed November 16 this year for Kogi and Bayelsa States.

Former Nigeria Union of Journalist President, Smart Adeyemi reiterated that, without Bello returning as governor for second term, his own senatorial district (West) will not be able to enjoy equity and justice in the power play.

According to Adeyemi, fairness, justice and equity is the tripod Kogites must consider, Gov Bello must be given a chance to complete his tenure.

His Words: “Other senatorial districts have ruled Kogi State for two terms. Now a brother from Kogi central, who has done very well in his first tenure; should also be given another opportunity to comlete his tenure”.

“If Governor Yahaya Bello is given the opportunity to lead us for another four years, I am convinced that we in the West will rule Kogi State”.

“I am using this medium to plead with our party leaders not to make the mistake of allowing one to change a winning team in Kogi State. Those who say APC cannot win Kogi under Bello are not God, because Bello is a covenant child”.

“If Governor Yahaya Bello is denied the All Progressive Party ticket, some of us might be forced to work against this party”.

Senator representing Kogi East, Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho, put the blame of the present predicament in the party and the state to abuse of trust.

Senator Jibrin, urged the party to adopt indirect primary if APC really want to retain the state, because there is a great fight ahead.

This online media gathered that Governors of Yobe Malla Buni and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi States were in some of the dignities that graced the occasion.
