Abaribe tells Buhari to resign

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Minority leader in the Senate, on Wednesday, called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senator representing Abia-South Senatorial District of Abia State said that the Buhari government and the All Progressives Congress has failed Nigerians.

Abaribe, while contributing to the motion sponsored by the Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi on national security said, President Buhari, has been deceiving to Nigerians that Boko Haram has been defeated.

He called on the President to resign his position because he is not capable of leading the Nation on both economy and security.

The minority leader of the Senate also added that the ruling party has been surviving on propaganda while the people who elected them into office have been suffering under them.

The Senator’s word: “Those who live on propaganda shall die by propaganda.”

“Defeat is staring us on the face.”

“Nigerians did not elect the Chief of Staff, Nigerians did not elect heads of Security, Nigerians elected President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and in 2019.”

“As it is, we are facing the head of the Nigerian government and this is President Buhari. He should resign with immediate effect.”

However, the Senate president stopped him not to politicized the issue because it was under discussion.

The Senate President, Lawan cautioned Abaribe that it was too early to tell President Buhari to resign.
