President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday 17th, met with the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu in a closed door meeting at Aso rock to decide the fate of the immediate past governor of Lagos state, Akinwumi Ambode for ministerial appointment. President Buhari Summons Sanwo-Olu for Ambode’s Ministerial Appointment.
The governor who arrived the Presidential villa at about 4:10pm was taken straight to the president and the meeting lasted for about an hour.
Though the outcome of the meeting was not officially made, but an insider spoke to our journalist on the condition of anonymity.
The governor who was hand-picked by the national leader of the ruling All progressive Congress, APC, Aswuaji Bola Tinubu to succeed Akinwumi Ambode was said to have been given orders from the president regarding the name for the Ministerial appointment from Lagos State.
From our highly placed source, was quoted as “President Buhari was not pleased with how All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu treated Akinwumi Ambode in the run up to the primaries for the governorship candidate of the state.”
The ministerial list will be send by the governor of the state to the president and that is why the president called on the governor to put him on noticed.
“Ambode was treated like a stooge and not like a politician but he swallowed the shame, even when the opposition beckoned on him to join forces with them he still stood for the party.”
“He is unhappy because despite his intervention, Ambode was denied the second term ticket. It is because of this that he is considering compensating him,” the source quoted.
Bola Tinubu is aware that Mr. President wants to compensate Ambode with a juicy appointment just like Fashola, Tinubu is not comfortable with it, but the president has the final say in this case.
Daily Tells understands that Buhari is going to retain some of his ministers: Fashola is in the top list which is also not in Tinubu’s list. The former two governors of Lagos state, Ambode and Fashola are going to make the list of Buhari’s Kitchen men.
