Uche Nwosu, Former Imo State 2019 governorship candidate and son-in-law to former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by the police.
The Nigerian Police during church service in Imo State halted the service to arrest the former candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Chief Uche Nwosu.
It would be recalled that it was rumored that Nwosu was kidnapped by armed men.
In a statement, Imo Police Command Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, confirmed Nwosu was in custody.
The Chief police officer gave the reason for announcing his arrest, was to allay fears about Nwosu’s whereabouts.
Abattam further appealed to the general public “to always shun fake news”.
This online media understands that, Nwosu was taken in by gun-throttling police operatives on Sunday while attending his late mother’s thanksgiving service at St Peter’s Anglican Church Eziama-Obaire Nkwerre LGA of Imo state.
Meanwhile, Nwadike Chikeze, a media aide to Mr Nwosu confirmed the arrest to Daily Tells Nigeria by phone.
