The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP has denied the allegation that the Party has zoned the Presidential slot to the North East and South East zones.
The Party refute such as insinuation as a fake permutations from political terrorists, whose aimed at causing rancor in the party.
The Spokesperson to PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said a section of the media is just trying to be speculative.
Ologbondiyan further explained that: those that are behind such report are set to misled the public and caused disunity with the ranks of our party.
“The PDP states categorically that our governors are not divided along any lines of ambition towards 2023, neither is there any plot to stop the ambition of any of our members.
“For the avoidance of doubt, our party is yet to discuss the 2023 presidential election, overtly or covertly, at any time whatsoever
He said the party’s main focus for now about Bayelsa and Kogi governorship election which is some days from now.
The spokesperson reaffirmed that As a party, they are also working with their state governors and legislators across the country in line with the manifesto of the party, to improve on the welfare and development of Nigerians.
“Moreover, he caution those he termed as the “enemies of our party”, who feel threatened by the rising profile of Governor Nyesom Wike, should have a rethink on their incessant attacks on the governor.
The party, PDP said there is no zoning for the Presidential elections, promised to give a level playing field for all Party members who want to aspire.
“The Peoples Democratic party, PDP appreciates the contribution of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, as well as all other governors, to the growth of our party and urge all members and supporters to ignore those seeking to cause disaffection in our ranks.” Kola Ologbondiyan, submitted.
The Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus had earlier said that the Party’s ticket for 2023 Presidential election for 2023 is not for zoning.
