PDP defeats APC in Akwa Ibom rerun elections

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has defeated the All Progressive Party, APC in Akwa Ibom rerun elections conducted on Saturday 25th, January.

The Supplementary elections was conducted for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Ikot Ekpene Federal and Essien Udim State Constituencies.

The Candidate of PDP for the Senatorial District elections, Christopher Ekpeyong defeated the Godswill Akpabio or Ekperikpe Ekpo of APC, scoring 19,924 for PDP while APC scored 6,903.

For the Federal House of Representative results, the PDP candidate scored 20, 235 while APC candidate scored 6,450.

Barr. Esse Umoh of the Peoples Democratic Party also defeated All Progressive Congress candidate, Hon. Nse Ntuen a strong ally to Godswill Akpabio with more than 70 percent of the vote casted.

However, for the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, PDP scored 18,999 while APC scored 7,108 PDP defeated APC.
