Oshiomhole talks tough for Kogi, Bayelsa guber polls

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomole on Wednesday, inaugurated two screening committees for Kogi and Bayelsa state governorship elections.

The committees are urge to examine and scrutinise aspirants contesting the governorship primaries on August 29 for the party’s ticket in Kogi and Bayelsa.

Adams Oshiomhole conducted the inauguration of the committees in Abuja and charged them to do screen all the aspirants thoroughly.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party has set Aug. 22 and Aug.23 for the committees to screen all the aspirants.

The APC candidate on the just concluded governorship in Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma chairs the seven-member committee to screen aspirants in Kogi election; while Sen. Abdullahi Gumen will head the committee for aspirants in Bayelsa.

Oshiomhole urged the committees to depend on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in the case of any contradictions and claims from any aspirant.

It will be recalled that the incumbent governor of Kogi state has been through tumults as some of the members of the Party are resisting his coming back as the governor.

Some preferred  Direct primaries in-order to removed him from contesting the re-election.

In Bayelsa one of the strong contenders in the race has been given a juicy appointment in the president Buhari’s Next Level cabinet.
