Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, how she was killed while heading to Ore junction from Akure, Ondo State.
She was attacked and shot by suspected killer herdsmen.
According to TVC news report, the driver, Tayo Ogundare stated that some men that were masked came out from the bush and attacked them and shot on Olufunke.
He further explained that the killer squad shot at the vehicle just after the Ore toll gate.
Hear him: “Funke was killed along Ore expressway by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.
Tayo also confirmed that her boss was taken to the hospital immediately the herdsmen left and she died at the hospital due to injuries sustained from the gunshots.
The driver and the house help recount their ordeals as they escaped when the killers shot at their vehicle and killed Funke.
Speaking to the media, those that were at the scene also confirmed the shooting by the men suspected to be herdsmen.
The brother of the deceased, Kehinde Reuben Fasoranti also confirmed that it was herdsmen that killed her sister.
But the police tried to denied and he referred them to the statement that was already given at the station.
The brother explained further, hoe her sister Olufunke was killed by herdsmen, that the ugly incident occurred few hours she left her father.
That her visitation that led to her dead was to see her father who just recover from the death of one of her sisters.
The driver and the house help statements “We stopped over at Ore to buy soft drinks. Herdsmen attacked us at Ore toll gate. The killers where all masked men that came from the bush with guns.
“At that point, madam (Olufunke) asked me to reverse immediately which I did.
They started shooting at us and other vehicles.
“In the process my boss was hit by bullets. Some of us in the vehicle escaped.
We later rushed her to the hospital where she gave up the ghost,” he stated.
