Ighalo joins Manchester United

Nigerian striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, joined one of the top English club side, Manchester United on a six-month loan deal.

Odion Ighalo becomes the first Nigerian  footballer to play for Manchester United, his signing is a sensational move which sees him back at the Premier League.

He played from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua before his signing.

The former Super Eagles Striker is to provide attacking options for Manchester United, who are without injured attacker, Marcus Rashford, and have had troubles hitting in goals needed to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe next season.

According to Sky Sports the news, United concluded the agreement with Ighalo on personal terms and salary over a six-month loan but tthe confirmation from Man United did not come until the morning hours of Saturday, February 1.

The 30-year-old  striker is the second senior addition to Man U Coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the signing of Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, from Sporting Lisbon.

Ighalo at Watford had scored 33 goals in 82 games during his first stint in the English topflight football league before moving to China in 2017.

The attacker has 16 goals to his credits out of 35 games played for the Super Eagles.

However, Ighalo, before quitting the National team, the form of Ighalo has been eye-catching, finishing as top scorer in African Cup of Nations – qualifying with seven goals, before scoring five at the tournament during the summer.
