Gov. Obaseki sacks Oshiomole’s LG Chairman and give reasons

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has sacked the Executive Local Government Chairman of Etsako West Local Government, Mr. Yakubu Musa.

Obaseki approved the removal of the erst-while LG boss who was alleged to be involved in a N46m fraud of th council’s fund.

Notably, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the sacked Local government chairman hails from Etsako West LGA.

Obaseki staed the reasons why he approved the sacked of the Local Government Chairman;

His words: “With the permission and authorisation of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), we dropped Yakubu Musa for engaging in corrupt activities.

“He was dropped based on the investigation conducted following reports and observations at the monthly Joint Account Allocation Committee meetings I preside over,” the Governor explained.

The governor stated that, no matter the developmental strides performed by his administration, the Local Government must Perform their obligatory duties.

He maintained that the former LG boss remain sacked.

However, this Online media understans that the governor has sworn in a new Local Chairman for Etsako West Local Governmen to replaced Mr. Yakubu Musa.

The new Chairman for Etsako West Local Government is Mr. Imonofi Osumah Inusa.

The swearing-in was conducted in Benin City, the state Capital.

Meanwhile, the Governor said that investigations by a panel constituted by the state government alleged that the former LG boss, Musa, was engaged in fraudulent activities and lacked the ability to supervise the staff of the Council.
