The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has congratulated President Buhari on the affirmation of his election victory by the Supreme Court.
Daily Tells had announced that the Supreme Court had on Wednesday expelled the case filled by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the 2019 political decision triumph of President Buhari, competitor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Supreme Court ruled against the PDP’s candidate and favour APC and its candidate. It noticed that the suit established by Atiku and the PDP lacked merit.
The seven-man board of the court, headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed in a consistent judgment, insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari was legitimately chosen as Nigeria’s President in the February 23 presidential political decision.
The Supreme Court board, in any case, said it will give explanations behind its choice sometime in the not too distant future.
Speaking through its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, MURIC depicted the choice of the most elevated court as an affirmation of the desire of the Nigerian people.
The statement reads: “We congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari for this well-deserved victory. In the same vein, we felicitate with the Chairman of the ruling party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole and the party’s National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“This is the General Will, the wish of the Nigerian people. We charge the triumphant party to be magnanimous in victory, to remain focussed on its anti-corruption agenda and to work tirelessly towards making life more abundant in Nigeria. We urge the opposition to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in moving the nation forward.
“MURIC hails the Supreme Court for a speedy legal process and for removing all unnecessary procrastination technicalities which had often slowed down judicial processes. We remind the CJN that Nigerians are anxiously awaiting the reform of the judiciary. He should, therefore, expedite action in this regard.”
