Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on the south west (Yorubas) to stop sleeping as their daughter Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti has been killed by Fulani herdsmen.
The IPOB leader reminded the Yorubas that they should not be cowards as this is should be “another wake-up call to killings too many in the land by these hoodlums called herdsmen.
The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation had announced the killing of Mrs. Olakunrin by suspected herdsmen in a message sent to The PUNCH news paper on Friday.
The message from Afenifere was sent by the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin to our news room.
In a message written by Afenifere’s spokesman said late Mrs. Olakunrin Olufunke, a 58years woman, was killed by herdsmen while heading to Ore Junction from Akure, Ondo State.
“We have confirmed the death of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin (58), daughter of our leader, Chief Fasoranti.
“Eyewitness accounts say she died of gunshots from Fulani herdsmen who shot her at Ore junction in Ondo State earlier today.
“She was coming from Akure when the armed Fulani herdsmen came from the bush to attack her and other vehicles.
Her domestic staff in the car with her also sustained gunshots.
“This is one death too many and a clear we-can-take-it-no-more death,” the statement by issued by Odumakin on Friday said.
Reacting to the killing in a terse statement issued by Amaka Ekwo, his social media manager, Kanu said: “The brazen terror attack on Yoruba soil by Fulani terrorists must not go unanswered. Let the murder of the daughter of Afenifere Chairman, Funke Fasoranti Olakunrin be another wake-up call.
Also, the former minister of Aviation Fani Kayode has condemned this barbaric act in totality and called on the government to be serious about human life,
Furthermore, the Afenifere has resolved to retaliate as Leader of IPOB, Namdi Kanu has urge Them (Yorubas) to stop sleeping and wake up from their slumber.
