The Kano State Government, through the Attorney General of the State, Ibrahim Muktar, has denied the allegation of banishing the dethroned Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Recalled that after the announcement dethronement of His Highness, Emir Sanusi, it was reported that he has been banished to the neighboring Nasarawa State amidst tight security.
According to Muktar, that government decision of Sanusi was only on dethronement and not on banishment as it were.

His words: “You see, If you listen to the Secretary to the State Government when he was addressing the press on the issue of the removal of the emir from office, there was nowhere he said the emir was even banished from Kano State.
“So, the decision of the government was (that) the emir … as of Monday was removed from office and a new emir was appointed. The issue of banishment was not part of the decision of the Kano State Government,” he said.
Daily Tells understands that, Sanusi’s legal team has moved to sue the State government on the action taken against the dethroned Emir.
It was reported that Dethroned Emir Sanusi was arrested, exiled to Nassarawa State.
Security Operatives on Monday arrested dethroned Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II .
Whisked him out of the ancient city amidst tight security.
It was gathered that the security operatives are heading to Nassarawa state.
However, Sanusi will spend the rest of his life in asylum.
Before he was taken away, Sanusi was said to have been put under house arrest by the heavy security personnel of DSS, Police and Military.
