Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has given reasons why he would not negotiate behind the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the 2023 general elections draw near.
Governor Obaseki said he would not negotiate on behalf of the party leaders because the leaders, including him, would sit together and decide what they wanted in the state.
He made this known on Boxing Day during a get-together for party leaders in Benin City, Edo.
He said, “Politics will soon start again as we are heading towards the national elections. We’ll sit together and decide what we want in Edo.
“Our target in e-registration is one million and we’ve over 220,000 members and the more people we can register, the more impact we’ll have in the election.”
Recalled Obaseki was first elected on the platform of APC but he decamped to PDP because of godfatherism.
