The Department of State Services (DSS) is set to release the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, (IMN), Shiek Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and the wife, Zeenat.
DSS said that it had received the order granting Ibrahim El-Zakaky and the wife leave to travel to India for medical treatment.
Daily Tells Nigeria had earlier reported that the Kaduna State High Court on Monday had granted leave to the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also know as Shiite.
Dr. Peter Afunanya, DSS Public Relations Officer, in a statement issued Monday night and made available to Daily Tells Nigeria.
“This is to inform the public that the Department of State Services (DSS) has received the order granting Ibrahim EL-ZAKZAKY leave to travel to India for medical treatment.
“Consequently, the Service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance.
“Conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy.” He submitted.
The PRO DSS department disclosed that the Shiites leader will be released immediately.
On a sad not,it will be recall that Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zinat were arrested in Kaduna in 2015 after soldiers killed over 300 members of members of IMN for allegedly throwing stones at the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, an act declared by the Army to be an assassination attempt.
