Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu ordered for compulsory wearing of face masks in the state amid lockdown.

The governor in a series of tweets on Sunday, tagged the exercise as #MaskUpLagos.

He said, the face mask will help to protect people from contracting Covid-19 infection.

“Dear Lagosians, even as we observe the lockdown, we are kicking off ; the COMPULSORY wearing of face masks in Lagos

“Face masks help to protect us from droplets and secretions from coughing, sneezing etc as not everyone that is infected will show symptoms.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Nigeria has gotten more than one thousand cases of Coronavirus, with Lagos State  having 689 cases.

Culled from NCDC, 1182 cases have been confirmed, 222 cases have been discharged and thirty five deaths have been recorded in 28 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
