Nigerian Government reveals that a 18-man group of Chinese medical specialists, including doctors and nurses will show up in Nigeria in two or three days.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, expressed this while talking at a press instructions by the presidential team on COVID-19 in Abuja on Friday.
Ehanire likewise said some Chinese organizations working in Nigeria, have additionally given clinical supplies to help the nation’s battle against coronavirus.
The health minister, speaking for Buhari’s government on the Chinese medical support said:
“I have been notified of medical supplies from China, courtesy of a group of Chinese companies working here in Nigeria. A special cargo aircraft shall leave Nigeria in a few days to collect the items which include commodities, personal protective equipment and ventilators,” he said.
“An 18-man team of Chinese medical experts including doctors, nurses and other medical advisers shall come along with the flight to assist us. I must, at this juncture commend our frontline workers who are doing a great job in case identification and management.
“As we prepare to contain COVID-19, we must not lose sight of other health challenges in our country. Routine health services must continue in our hospitals. Only a wing of tertiary health centers should be used for infected patients.”
Recalled that Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has affirmed ten new instances of coronavirus in the nation.
As at the time of filing this report, more new cases were discovered, making 190 affirmed cases of COVID19 in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said this in a statement on Friday said they are compiling the list of Nigerians willing to return home.
