President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sworn in Justice Mohammad Tanko as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.
Tanko became the 18th CJN after he was sworn in by the President in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The CJN who has been on acting capacity since January 2019 due to his predecessor’s exit.
Mohammad Tanko rose from the position of Acting CJN to the position of CJN after Buhari suspended Walter Onnoghen over alleged non-declaration of his assets.
The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) accused him of irregularities.
