Buhari sacked Dakuku Peterside

President Buhari has sacked Dakuku Adol Peterside as Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Dakuku is Rotimi Ameachi’s ally, the current minister of Transportation.

He has served as commissioner of works when Ameachi was the governor of Rivers State.

He was also nominated by Ameachi to succeed him as the governor of the State but was defeated by Chief Nyesom Wike.

However, he was appointed as the DG MIMASA by the President through the recommendation of the Minister of Transport who was Buhari’s Campaign director.

Dakuku, has since enjoyed as the NIMASA’s DG since the first term of this administration, reasons for is removal may be connected to the 2023.

The President has since approved the appointment of his successor Bashir Jamoh as the new DG NIMASA.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed DG was until his appointment, the executive director for admin and finance at NIMASA.

Jamoh, hails from Kaduna State and currently he is also the president of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

He holds a PhD from the University of Port Harcourt, specialising in logistics and transport management.

The 56 years old Jamoh, also holds a master’s degree in management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, a post-graduate diploma in management sciences from Bayero University, Kano and a diploma in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
