The newly appointed Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Professor Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei has slumped in the House of Representative in Abuja.
Pondei was said to have collapsed during a presentation before the committee set up to investigate the alleged misappropriating of funds in the commission.
However, the house committee has decided to paused the hearing for 30 minutes as he has been rushed to the hospital.
Although there were suggestions that the session should be postponed, authorities, however, insisted that it would continue with the investigation of the alleged mismanagement of N81.5 billion by the interim management of the NDDC headed by Pondei
It would be recalled that, Pondei in his last appearance to the house committee had stage a walk out from the Assemblymen.
Meanwhile, the house had last week insisted that Pondei and Sen Godswill Akpabio, the minister for Niger Delta Affairs were both asked to appear before the committee over allegations levelled against them by the former Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Joi Nunieh.
