Buhari appoints another Northerner as EFCC Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the appointment of Mohammed Umar as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a statement released from the Presidency on Friday by Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, media aide to Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation.

This online media understands that all the EFCC Chairmen always come from the Northern Nigeria.

Even as the corruption and stealing of the Nation’s treasury keep increase, the EFCC bosses are not left out from these ungodly act.

It would be recalled that EFCC was created by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003 and the pioneer chairman of the commission was Nuhu Ribadu from Adamawa State, North East Nigeria.

Ribadu was succeeded by Ibrahim Lamorde in an acting capacity, from same Northern part of the country.

Farida Mzamber Waziri took over as a new EFCC chairman.

Recalled that Ibrahim Lamorde was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari on November 9, 2015.

President Buhari there after appointed Ibrahim Magu as the acting chairman of the EFCC, the controversial position held till he was disgraced out from the office.

Nigerians are complaining of Buhari’s position in appointing only Northerners to the sensitive positions in Nigeria.

Just in, the president has appointed Umar as an acting chairman of EFCC pending the confirmation from the senate which is also headed by a northerner.

Be it as it may, the one of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is not making any head way as they are constantly accused of re-looting the looted funds.
