Atiku rejects Buhari's Fuel Price

Former Vice President of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party’s Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakkar has rejected the increment in fuel and electricity tariff by President Buhari.

The former VP, expressed his displeasure on Buhari’s decision owning to the facts that Nigerians are just coming out of lockdown and many are yet to recover from the lost the Covid-16 pandemic brought.

Atiku, speaking from his social media account says, “Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face.

He also talked about the daily and monthly income of the people, that many have not earned any income since the pandemic.

He carpeted the president, that he is not faced with the reality.

His words:

“I reject the increased electricity tariffs.

“Coming out of the lockdown, Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face.

“Many Nigerians have not earned an income for months, due to no fault of theirs. This increase is ill-timed and ill-advised.‬

Some of his fans reacted as follows:

Mohammed Abba Aja: We told them during the election, it is result of their stubbornness. Let us taste it before you come and wipe away our tears. May Allah grant you long life and success in life sir.

This is very unfortunate, I totally condemned the increase of electricity and fuel price in this critical situation. But Sir this press statement that you have released is not enough, do something within your capacity, atleast protest and occupy the street to show that you really care for the masses. May Allah assist the poor and safeguard us from the evil doers.
Nigeria is the only country that practices the law of the marginalisation of the poor. The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Your excellency millions of Nigerians reject it with you.
