Ben Ayade defeats Enoh, the former minister of Niger Delta Affairs and the controversial candidate of APC
The election petition tribunal sitting in Calabar the Cross River State capital has upheld the election of Prof. Ben Ayade of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 9th Governorship elections.
Governor Ben Ayade defeats Owan Enoh as the tribunal dismisses his petition on technical grounds.
In a petition number tagged EPT/CAL/Gov/1/2019, the Judge rules that that the facts before him were irreconcilable and mutually exclusive.
Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Josiah Majebi said the petitioner had failed to seek redress within the legally specified 14 days allowed for complaints.
He ruled that, such issue is a pre election matter.

The Judge also stated the tribunal’s mandate don’t cover such issues. He, therefore strike it and such others out for incompetence.”
Daily Tells also understands from the judgement according to the judgement that multiplicity of litigations by interested groups of the APC regarding the governorship election made the petition more complicated to attend to.
Furthermore the defeats has secured the governor’s second term and Ayade is yet to get response from Enoh.
