Ex-minister, Ogbeh rejected Buhari's appointment

The former minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has debunked rumors making the rounds that he rejected President Buhari’s appointment and the reason his name was missing from the Ministerial list.

The Benue born Politician, Audu, while speaking on the issue that led to his exclusion from making Buhari’s second term cabinet debunk the reports that he turn down the appointment to be appointed as minister of agriculture for the second time.

The ex-minister explained that “there was no such thing that occurred. I never rejected Mr. President’s offer for re-appointment.

“No one approached me on behalf of Mr. President since we left office on 29th May, and I never went to lobby anyone, because I had a very good and smooth working relationship with Mr. President.

“It is complete falsehood and mischief for anyone to insinuate that I declined the offer of re-appointment.”

He, however, applauded the President for the trust and the opportunity gave him to serve the nation in the capacity he did.

“At any rate, I am grateful to Mr. President for giving me the chance to contribute to the development of our dear country in the last four years.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is such a good man who means well for the country.

“I believe we all need to support him to take the country to the next level of national development”

Meanwhile, On Friday, Dr Jacob Okwori  led a delegation of the Idoma Development Forum who paid a courtesy visit to ex-minister in his Abuja residence. They display displeasure that their elder statesman did not make the Next Level List despite his record of achievements.

We were really surprised that your name was not on the list, considering all these accomplishments.

They expressed fears and optimism on the influence of the “cabal” in the presidential villa for appointments.

“There has been strong indication that your denial gives credence to the stories going round in the social media and official circles that the so called ‘cartel in the villa’ actually interfered with the list of Mr. President and even the Vice President by replacing some names with their preferred candidates.”

This online news media reveals that Audu Ogbeh was rejected by Buhari’s cabal for appointment and has replaced by the former governor of the state, Senator George Akume who is now seen as the political leader of APC in Benue state
