Afenifere Leader, Fasoranti speaks on daughter’s dead



The father of Funke Olakunrin, Pa Reuben Fasoranti expressed sadness over the demise of his daughter.
Funke was murdered on Friday by men suspected to be herdsmen on her way to Ondo.
Pa Fasoranti urge President Buhari to take security situation of the country seriously.
The Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti has spoken since the daughter was killed by suspected herdsmen on Friday 12th July.
Fasoranti, 95 said he never believed that he would not be able to see her daughter anymore.
It was reported that the leader of the socio-cultural Yoruba group, Afenifere, made this confession on Saturday, July 13 at his home where he received visitors.
He had earlier received dignitaries from all works of life who came to pay condolence visit to the family.
The Afenifere leader said her daughter, Funke came to bid him farewell and he won’t see again.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari had offer his condolence but, that’s not enough.
Fasoranti also ask the president is to do everything possible to curb crime in the country, no excuses.
Pa Fasoranti in a statement “My daughter only came to see me in the morning, Friday around 9am to bid me farewell.
“I never had any clue that I would not see her again.
“President Muhammadu Buhari had called to commiserate with me on this hard moment. But, that is not enough.
All I want from the President Buhari is to proffer a solutions to these unending killings from the so called herdsmen.”
Yes, he should act now!
However, the Nigerian police has denied the allegation, insisted that Funke was shot by unknown gunmen but not herdsmen.
The police has made revelation that they have rescued caught so far.
They claimed to have rescued four persons that were abducted by the hoodlums, making the total number to seven.
Meanwhile, one person is still with the abductors.
