Adeleke goes ‘Spiritually’ as he awaits Supreme Court Ruling



Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of People Democratic Party in September 22, 2018 governorship elections has gone spiritually as he awaits the final judgment from the Supreme Court.

Adeleke goes ‘spiritually’ as he called on his supporters across board to be prayerful and peaceful as they await the final verdict on July.

The dancing senator urged the PDP family and supporters to be prayerful and believed God for the verdict from the Supreme Court will favour him.

The senator is confident of winning the last lap of the case as he had already won at the Tribunal stage.

Background story on the last verdict

Mr. Oyetola of APC was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission after a controversial re-run election conducted in parts of the state on September 27, 2018.

Ademola Adeleke of PDP was on March 22, declared winner of the governorship election petitions tribunal in Abuja.

In a split judgment of two-to-one, the three-member panel of the tribunal, declared the PDP candidate, Senator Adeleke, the winner of the September 22, gubernatorial election.

The tribunal had nullified the certificate of return issued to Mr Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress by INEC and also ordered the commission to issue a fresh certificate of return to senator Adeleke.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on May 9, nullified the tribunal’s decision and reaffirmed the decision of INEC by sustaining that Oyetola is still the governor.

A five-member panel of the Court of appeal led by Jummai Sankey delivered the judgement in favor of Oyetola.

The three members of the panel agreed with the lead judgment which was in favour of All Progressive candidate.

Daily Tells gathered that apex court had fixed July 5 for judgment on the petition Adeleke filed against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, Oyetola.

The peoples’ Democratic Party’s candidate Senator Adeleke is confident of winning at the Supreme Court.

Adeleke, tasked his party members and supporters within the state and Nigeria to remain calm and prayerful ahead of the July 5 judgment.

He promised to get a favourable verdict from the highest court of the land on July 5.

Adeleke’s last hope is now in God as he goes spiritually to get the victory.

Adeleke expressed confident that by the special grace of God Almighty and the judicial process, economic prosperity beckons on Osun State.

He called on the people of Osun state “be rest sure that I will not disappoint you when I eventually, through the grace of God and instrumentally of the judiciary” emerge victorious.

He urged his supporters not to allow the intimidation from the APC to lower their spirit.
