Abia: Theodore Orji’s Son, Chinedum Orji emerged speaker Abia state House of Assembly.



Abia state gets new speaker for the 7th Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Chinedun Orji has been elected as the 11th Speaker of Abia state House of Assembly

Chinedum is a member representing Umuahia Central State constituency in the state House of Assembly.

Chinedum Orji was nominated by the member representing Ugwunaagor state constituency, Munachim Alozie, seconded by the member representing Isiala Ngwa North state constituency, Ginger Onwusibe.

There was no dissenting voice and he was elected unopposed during the inaugural session of the state assembly for the 7th Assembly.

Orji, who is a second term lawmaker, emerged unopposed on Monday during the inaugural session of the state legislature.

Mr. Chinedum Orji, son of the former governor Theodore Orji, was also the majority leader of last Assembly.

The member representing Ohafia South state constituency, Ifeanyi Uchenduwas also elected as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

He was nominated by the member representing Obingwa West state constituency, Atoms, while Jerry Uzodike supported his nomination.

The Clerk of the House, Mr. Pedro Irokansi was the presiding officer for the session.

Meanwhile, the father of the speaker is the senator representing Umuahia senatorial district
