The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has been declared winner of March 9 election by the Tribunal.
The election Tribunal sitting in Sokoto has affirmed the re-election of the governor.
Daily Tells Nigeria reports that the Sokoto State Election Petition Tribunal delivered the final judgment on the Sokoto governorship election on Wednesday, October 2.
And, the Tribunal was unanimously affirmed that Tambuwal was the winner of the election.
It would be recalled that, he was a member of All Progressive Congress in 2015 until late 2018 when he resigned and join the Peoples’ democratic Party to contest for the Presidential ticket of the Party where he lost to the forver vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakkar.
Mr. Tambuwal was the former house of Representative speaker.
He is serving as the second term governor under the platform of PDP.
According to our online media journalist who had been monitoring the proceedings in Sokoto Election Tribunal, reported that the Tribunal struck out the petition filled by Ahmed Aliyu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, challenging the declaration of Governor Tambuwal as the winner of the governorship election.
