The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West, Senator Chris Ekpenyong congratulates Senator Godswill Akpabio for his appointment as the minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Engr. Christopher Ekpenyong defeated Akpabio from returning to senate for the second time.

The senator representing Ikot Ekpene senatorial district was a former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State where Akpabio served under him as a commissioner.
This online media recalled that Senator Akpabio had challenge the election of Senator Chris Ekpenyong, the case is yet to be determined in the court.
Akpabio, though has been declared as a minister has not issued any statement in regards to either to continue with the case in the court against Ekpenyong or to focus on his ministerial position.

However, it is not clear if the governor of the state, Udom Emmanuel which is the direct beneficiary of the honorable minister has congratulated him.
