The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), says it is seeking ways to deal with the rape allegations raised by Busola Dakolo, against to the Senior Pastor, Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Busola, in a viral video released couple of weeks ago, accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of raping her some years back when she was under 18.

CAN’s acting General-Secretary, Joseph Daramola, in a record released in Abuja, on Sunday, appealed to both parties to sheath their swords and stop the media war in the interest of the church and for the more glory of God.

He explained: “It’s disheartening how some commentators and columnists have already been insulting the Body of Christ in Nigeria consequently with this incident.

“Like we’ve earlier stated, it doesn’t matter who’s involved, rape is ungodly and reprehensible.

“But we’ve resisted the temptation to jump into conclusion since a human anatomy like ours is going to be expected to possess uncovered the facts about the situation before generally making public statements and not base its position merely upon media reports.”

He added that, although, COZA hadn’t been a dynamic person in CAN, but that will not put the church beyond your spiritual watch-care of CAN.

The CAN have this to say as the stepped into the matter:

“CAN is the umbrella body for Christians and churches in Nigeria.

Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, does not turn back anyone that comes to Him and CAN also does not.

The Ministry of the Church, according to Jesus Christ, is the Ministry of Reconciliation, which is centred on true love and forgiveness of those who repent,” Daramola added.

Daily Tells Nigeria understand that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has been quiet on the issues surrounding the allegation.

However, they are investigating the allegation of the scandal now!
