Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has withdrawn the appointment of newly appointed aide of Mr Festus Adedayo barely 48 hours after his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Senator Ahmad Lawan bows to pressure from APC group and some critics from the political cabal and had to reverse his decision that he said was based on competence.

In a statement made available to Daily Tells Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja by the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Mohammed Isa, the appointment was rescinded in his best interest.

Part of the statement reads:

“The office of the President of the Senate has reviewed the appointment of Mr. Festus Adedayo as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Senate and decided to rescind its decision on the appointment, and wishes Mr. Adebayo the best in his future endeavours.”

This online news platform can recalled that, a group known as All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum had earlier critcise the appointment made by senate president.

The group had issued strong warning to the senate president to stop rewarding the ‘enemies’ of Buhari for any appointments.

To many political analyst, Lawan has failed his first political test. If just a group under APC should threatened him and he rescind his decision on just appointment, then when the real deal comes he will just run away or resign
